DEVELOPING COMPETENCIES FOR A JUST TRANSITION OF SOUTH AFRICA’S BANKING SECTOR
Client: Centre for Researching Education & Labour (REAL), Wits University
Funder: Banking Sector Education & Training Authority (BankSETA)
Pinpoint managed a research team, and undertook research, to better understand the potential impact of a sustainability agenda and digitalisation on jobs and skills in South Africa’s retail banking sector. Pinpoint focused on digitalisation, providing an evidence-base from which BankSETA set out an action plan to support its members to transition to a digital future. This included assessing which jobs are most likely to be at risk e.g. bank tellers, and which will be in most demand.
