FINAL TECHNICAL REVIEW OF THE RUMAKI MPA PROJECT, TANZANIA

Pinpoint and Baobab Connection collaborated to assess the achievements of the Rufiji-Mafia-Kilwa MPA project located in Tanzania. The project intended to enhance the conservation of the seascape and livelihoods dependent on it. OECD evaluation criteria were used to analyse the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability of the project. The project achieved significant outcomes in biodiversity conservation, governance improvement, and some sustainable livelihoods. The review also highlighted lessons learned to inform approaches for future projects.
