GREEN SKILLS IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN PAINT SECTOR

GREEN SKILLS IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN PAINT SECTOR

Client: Environmental Learning Research Centre (ELRC), Rhodes University
Funder: Chemical Industries Education & Training Authority (CHIETA)

Under South Africa’s Green Skills Programme, Pinpoint was contracted to investigate the greening of skills in South Africa’s commercial paint sector. This involved assessing current political, economic, social, technological and environmental trends affecting the sector, and how these impact the sector’s sustainable practices. Insights informed the identification of relevant occupations and skills that will require skilling to adopt sustainable practices within the decorative, automotive and marine paint sub-sectors.
