Client: Environmental Learning & Research Centre (ELRC), Rhodes University
Funder: Chemical Industries Education & Training Authority (CHIETA)

Under South Africa’s Green Skills Programme, Pinpoint was commissioned, along with Creating Sustainable Value, to investigate the greening of skills in South Africa’s petroleum sector, with a focus on refineries. The contextual drivers facing the industry, how the industry responds to climate change, and future scenarios were developed and assessed to inform the types of skills and occupations the sector will require to transition to a green economy.
